Disaster Overview & Acts of Mercy Response
On February 6, 2023, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated Turkey and northern Syria. AOMI has served the community in Antakya, Turkey, since the first days of search and rescue following the earthquakes. Today, the community that started as the central location for our soup kitchen has become a small church of local believers that hosts an English club, music classes, and discipleship groups. The team regularly serves about 200 families, distributing essential supplies and now providing trauma counseling services. In 2024, nine people accepted faith in Jesus, and two were baptized as they took the next step in their journey. Through ongoing support and outreach, we remain committed to walking alongside this community as they rebuild their lives.
