North Carolina
Disaster Overview
Hurricane Helene made landfall on September 27, 2024, as a major tropical storm which resulted in historic rainfall in North Carolina causing massive flooding. Acts of Mercy International immediately set up headquarters in Asheville and Boone, North Carolina. Teams focused on search and rescue, assisting medical needs in remote communities, food and water distribution, and mucking homes.
Acts of Mercy Response
Over three months, AOMI worked in Asheville and Boone, serving communities in need. During this time, we distributed 16 Starlinks, provided 3,025 gallons of drinking water and 15,025 gallons of non-potable water, mucked 52 houses, and cleared debris from 94 homes. Our medical teams delivered 200 hours of care, reaching 175 households, and deployed six medical teams as part of a larger effort that saw 35 teams in action. In total, we served 24,972 people, engaged in 350 spiritual conversations, and distributed 360 food boxes, bringing hope and relief to those affected.

We are actively responding to the hurricane in North Carolina with multiple deployments, providing critical relief to affected communities. Your support makes a difference—whether through prayer, giving, or joining our efforts on the ground.
We are incredibly grateful for the financial contributions that have allowed us to serve, support, and bring hope to those in need. Thank you for partnering with us in this vital work!
